Hi there, I'm Sophia
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent and an expat based in Zürich, Switzerland.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Hidden Garden Path
Most information online fell into either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Switzerland.
